In August, I asked you to send me photographs of places that meant something to you - places connected to a memory, a person, an adventure or a particular chapter of your life.

I didn’t realise how touching it would be to read the stories behind them. Some made me smile, some moved me and, as if I needed any more reason to, some left me yearning even more to visit places I have never been.

I chose many of these references not only because of the images themselves, but because of the stories behind them. You reminded me why I do this in the first place: capturing something that goes beyond what a place looks like and explore how it feels and what it means to us.

These paintings began with your stories, but they were created to speak to something in all of us - our own memories, adventures, people and places. I hope you find a moment among them that feels like yours.
